Husband's Disapproval

vest: Old Navy (similar)  dress: Old Navy (old) (similar) belt: Target  shoes: dsw

I put this vest on the other day and Chris' first response was "What is that?"

(cue disgusted tone)

"Ummm, a vest."

"You look like you're ready to lead a safari trip."

I then proceeded to tell him that it was a military vest and was actually very trendy right now.
He didn't believe me.

So I told him I'd be able to look up military vest on pinterest and find hundreds of pictures of stylish ladies wearing a similar vest.

I then decided that probably wasn't worth it.

I've actually had this vest for a long time and got it on clearance last year at Old Navy.
I've yet to wear it in warmer weather but have seen so many cute outfits with it I am finally trying it.

And despite Chris' disapproval I will continue to wear it.

Happy Wednesday!

  5. I think it's so funny that there are "guy outfits" and "girl outfits" - guys often find girl outfits ugly and don't understand why they're stylish while our gal pals gush about how cute they are! There are a number of things I wear that cause the same reaction from my hubby - he doesn't get things like an accent nail or pattern mixing!

  6. Yup! I do the same! There is stuff he wears that I have no say about so he can't say anything about my outfits although he tries. But he just wants me to look like I'm going out to the club every night. No thank you, lol.

  12. Guys are clueless! Sounds exactly like something my husband would say. Right now he's stuck on the fact that he can't believe colored jeans are in and nothing I say convinces him.

  14. I am not a fan of vests (for me, I'm too busty). But I do have to say that outfit looks terrific on you! I like the military style with the cute polka dots, and the colours go together perfectly. Have you ever posted about that dress before? I'd like to see the rest of it. I love polka dot dresses!

  15. Yes, I've gotten the occasional weird look from the husband. But I will never forget the day Scott tried to wear a plaid shirt with pinstripe pants. I was HORRIFIED.

  24. You rock the vest Katie! I get that question or even a look from my husband frequently. I just smile at him and take solace in the fact that he is not a fashionista and I don't have to be put off by him :-)

  25. This made me laugh because my husband is the same way! You look great and I love the vest! It could go safari, but (a) that's the point - it's in style and (b) you wore it in a way that it screams "cool" rather than "riding around looking for wild animals". :)

  31. I tried to tell my boyfriend I really like the leather trend for fall and want to get something leather - he just stared at me. I also tried to show him cheetah print smoking slippers and he told me I'd look like a grandma in them. You can't trust everything men say - besides we're the fashionistas right?! Love this outfit, the vest looks so cute with the dress!
