Pet Peeves

skirt: target   cardigan: old navy   boots: old navy  necklace: wild about jewelry

I'm actually really surprised that I have yet to write a post about my pet peeves.

Mostly because I am probably one of the most easily annoyed people in the world.  One time my sister told me that there is this real thing where some people hear little noises louder than others and it triggers something differently in their brain.  Something like that.

Well I've held on pretty tight to that bit of information and tell myself I can't help it.

Because to be honest almost any noises annoy me.  Clicking, smacking, chewing, tapping.  You name it.

I guess I actually did mention in one post a few annoying things that Chris does, like picking his teeth.

But here are some of the top pet peeves on my list:

finger or pencil tapping
chomping food or gum
hitting a fork with your teeth when you eat
throat scratching or clearing
slurping

Now Chris' only pet peeve is that I have so many pet peeves.

What are some on your list? Please tell me I am not alone!

  1. My pet peeve: When who ever is in charge of emptying the trash (ahem, my husband) doesn't empty the trash! I get unreasonably angry!

  2. Um so basically you're saying we can't ever meet in real life ;)

  3. You are so right. Lip smacking is SO annoying... or mouth breathers, ommggg!

    You are not alone!! haha

  4. You look adorable. :)
    Hmm...
    1. Slow drivers/drivers that don't go the speed limit
    2. Excuses that are made
    3. Food chomping
    4. Clutter/unkept houses

&& I know there's more but for some reason these are the only ones I can think of :)
Been thinking and praying for you!

  5. I'm right there with you with the sounds, although I mostly cannot do mouth sounds. It seriously pushes me over the edge

  6. I am seriously the same! I've always been this way and it drives my family nuts. I hear things they don't hear and they irk me. haha! And I've heard about that... issue? Whatever it is. I totally think I have it. Loud breathing, food chomping, gum smacking, throat clearing, etc. I wish it didn't bug me.

  7. I cannot stand people chewing, slurping, chugging, chomping gum, etc... ugh it is SO annoying!

  8. I am the same way - SO easily annoyed. People who sniffle constantly - get a tissue and blow your nose already! Drivers that cut in front of you and then slow waaaaay down. Ok, I have to stop at 2 because I will just keep typing all night ;)

  9. This has to be one of my favorite outfits you've posted!! I HATE loud yawning, or when people try and talk through a yawn. So annoying!

  10. I'm with you--it is so easy to annoy me! I hate when people smack or breath heavily.

  11. cute outfit! pencil tapping and gum chomping have to be my biggest pet peeves. I have a couple little ones this year that are constant tappers - they don't even realize they are doing it.

  12. Dirty floors and clutter. A dirty floor in my house is enough to push me over the edge. None of those things on your list, strangely enough, bug me. I guarantee you I am the chick chomping her gum all the time because chomping doesn't bother me. So I probably am guilty of it. :)
    Those boots are perfect.

  14. haha I posted about this, too! Im really pet peevy too... as of late it's become a pet peeve (if I can really call it that) to be EXPECTED to do certain favors for other... is that even a pet peeve? or is that just me getting easily annoyed ;)

  15. Oh my gosh I seriously just cringed over the fork hitting the teeth...ugh it is like nails on a chalkboard. My pet peeves are when people are like on top of you either A) while you are looking at clothes on a rack or B) while you are checking out in a store line. I also can't stand people who can't drive AND people who share all their drama on Facebook for gaining attention( discussing custody battles, baby daddy in jail, etc...)

  16. Dirty sinks or water splashed on the counter around the sink. Toothpaste or splatter on the mirror. Whiskers around the sink. Ish. Ish. Ishy. And all time worst peeve ever? When the bottom of my pants get wet from snow. It can ruin my entire day if I have to sit around all day with soppy wet pant bottoms. It's pretty much the only reason I've embraced the skinny jean fad. :)

  17. This is so cute! :) and I have basically all the same pet peeves...hate when people make noises when they eat!

  19. Hahaha you are funny. I have pet peeves too, not noises that much, though I can think of a few that bother me: someone digging for chips in a chip bag! SO annoying! I get really annoyed with shortened words or sentences. Such as: presh, come with, and shortening up proper nouns like instead of saying the Patriots saying the Pats. Pet peeves are weird! Love your leopard cardi!

  20. LOVEEE this post! hahaha yes and i love your pet peeves! the fork hitting the teeth thing is the worst. WORSSSTTTT.

  21. Pretty much the cutest outfit ever. ;)

  22. I'm weird with volume - I always have to have the remote and I am constantly adjusting the volume as the scenes change or if a show goes to commercial - i don't like things too loud. I also hate multiple noises at once - like if the TV is on and someone has sound on the computer plus a child talking - my brain feels like it is going to explode and I need to find silence lol

    ReplyDelete
  23. smacking and people who leave their buggy in random places all over the parking lot.
    thats just lazy people

    You are too adorable!
    Love that sweater!

  24. Ugh! HATE scraping teeth with utensils! Also, loud talkers and people that invade my personal space.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I just hate fidgeting in general! so obnoxious!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Snoring and back seat driving! I think snoring is the most disgusting sound ever and I don't like it when people try to tell me how to drive. :)

  27. When you're riding in the car with someone and they read every sign we pass out loud. ...McDonald's...exit 25...trucks left lane...Arby's 5 for $5...AHHHHHHH!

    Sign readers, I call them.

  28. Ok, I feel like we must be related or something. I have about 5 billion things that annoy me...so much so that I considered writing a book called "Things that annoy me and why." Some things on my list would have to be...loud/close talkers, the way my husband clicks his teeth in his sleep, the way our coffee pot always spills coffee when I pour it (no matter what)...i could go on and on! Great post! :)

  29. The slightest noises always bother me so I have to listen to music at work. I love every single thing about this outfit!! It's perfect!

  30. oh the fork on the tooth noise is awful! but the one that makes me cringe is someone trying to erase something with a pencil that doesn't have much of an eraser left. ahhhhhh! just the thought makes me cringe. :)

  31. First, love the outfit. And couldn't agree more. As my hubby just cleared his throat! LOL And, I will add chewing on ice!!! The girls used to do it when they were younger and it drove us nuts.

  32. Girl - you are SO not alone.
One of my biggest pet peeves is chomping on food - while talking on the phone. I HATE THAT.
By the way - I am obsessed with that entire outfit.

  33. Haha aww...you poor thing. I am happy that I don't have many pet peeves. I've learned that pet peeves only annoy me, and it's not worth the negative energy, so I stopped letting things bother me.

    ReplyDelete
  34. OMG I hate little noises! Scott can pick his fingernails and it really annoys me! haha I think he does it on purpose sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Haha, the more I get to know you, the more I think we're alike! My biggest pet peeve is when someone is yawning and they try to talk at the same time. Not only can I not understand what you're saying, it's just gross! Rolled up socks in the laundry is another one, I don't want to have to unroll your smelly socks so that they can washed properly. Haha. :)

  37. My biggest pet peeves are related to driving. I can't stand when people don't signal or drive incredibly slow in the left lane and won't move over!

  38. Anything done in public that should be done in private... scratching, stretching, workout moves, fingernail clipping... I have threatened co-workers that I will be posting big signs of what isn't acceptable behavior in my office... I am amazed at people's lack of manners. Please don't bend over at the copier and show your butt crack... Ohhh myyyy gooddnessss!! I try to keep a sense of humor.. but once someone put their foot On My Desk, to stretch out.... I almost flipped out.... Unacceptable Behaviour!!!

  39. All my pet peeves have to do with driving :) I should stay off the roads more! Love this skirt, the whole thing looks so great on you!

  41. Those boots = <3

Mine would have to be this random yelling "whoop" thing that my husband does. Half the time I don't think he realizes that he even does it anymore.

  42. Granted, I know many people do this (and I have too, b/c you just can't help it sometimes) but I really hate when people scratch their plate with forks or knives. That noise is like nails on a chalkboard and drives me NUTS.

  43. I honestly have way too many pet peeves to mention. Smacking food is definitely on top of that list. But most of mine have to do with dance. I need to start writing them down so I can do my own blog post about this! :-)

  44. My biggest pet peeve is when the tv is too loud. For some reason it just drives me bonkers!!

  46. When I'm trying to sleep, the littlest noise totally bugs me. Which is weird because when I was little I was a heavy sleeper. Once our dogs set off the bog house alarm and slept through the entire thing. Another pet peeve is when people say 'seen' instead of 'saw'. So annoying!

You look amazing! I love skirts paired with boots!

  47. I love your leopard cardi! As for pet peeves, I'm with you on the throat clearing one. I am always tempted to ask the guilty party if they'd like a glass of water, even if they're a perfect stranger. Haha!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Mine are more along the lines of improper grammar and spelling (they're -there-their, accept -except, bored -board etc.) and random abbreviations. Drives me nuts. I am the weirdo who sends text messages fully spelled out with correct grammar and punctuation.

    ReplyDelete
  49. You share the same pet peeves as my husband! I can barely eat around him unless there is music or something else on to drown out the noise.
My biggest pet peeve is when people don't ever return text messages...but they get on Facebook on their phone!

  50. I think your hair looks amazing in these pictures? Love it, you, and the outfit! And I too have so many pet peeves. Maybe it's genetic!

  51. Oh my goodness! I agree on the throat clearing, slurping, and chomping. I think it's just rude.

  52. Hands down my favorite look you have worn!! I want to copy!! And it drives me NUTS when people chomp their ice...I cringe!!!
